About Me

From a young age I have always been involved with sports whether it is swimming, football when I was younger to now doing Ju-jitsu, cycling as well training my body in many different ways. Throughout my training and career I have attempted to develop ways of incorporating exercises of varying intensity to assist with patients issues where appropriate to maintain movement. I am a firm believer that motion is lotion and that if a barrier is removed albeit mechanical or emotional the body will return naturally to a state of balance. As I am relatively new to the profession my ambitions are to improve my clinical knowledge and develop my skills, particulary in the paediatric and obstetrics as I will soon become a father.

Coming from a complete rookie who would love to ski in the future, this has given me an insight in the prehab that I can do before setting out on my snowy adventure. Also great visual aids to suggest patients to when they are thinking about a ski trip.

Great article Richard, a very interesting read!

I will be sure to put these in place with my new challenge as a new dad and also apply this information to my own patient.

Great article Annie- the exercises that you recommend are simple but effective and can see how they will improve someone's balance and core. I especially like the Bosu squat a great stressor of the knee under a controlled environment to improve your proprioception ready for the slopes.

Great read Richard, a good overview of the injuries that can occur while skiing. The ACL was a good intro into my article which is coming out tomorrow
